What is the maximum file size that General Cadd can handle?
I received an Autocad file, approximately 131 meg is size.

When I attempted to load the file, a note flashed to the screen that stated "out of memory" and then this:
I do not know what data was collected -- the system quit responding. NO RESPONSE --> system off/on.

I am using GCP9+
3.1 gHZ CPU speed, with 4 gig of memory, running under Win7.

If the memory constraint is 128 MB, that is ok with me.
I will continue to rent AutoCad for the professional size files.
[Rent is probably not the best word to use: I use a consultants AutoCad system to split the DWG & DXF files into manageable pieces on my generic cad system. I pay a small hourly rate (during the off normal business hours) for the use of his system.]

It's just a guess that the limits might occur at 32mb, 64mb, 128mb

What is the max file size GCP9 can handle?

It looks like the core issue here is how big of a DWG file can we convert. Since we use a DWG conversion library - I'll have to find out if there are any limits on that system.
Let me do a little research...

Rook -- I don't know about AutoCAD (not a "player" on my side of the street), but I have created seriously GB-sized GXD's without a problem. I have a 4 GB file that uses more than 3000 layers.
