I have set the screen aspect ration on other versions of General Cadd. But when I noticed that a square did not look square, in version 9, I could not find anything about setting the aspect ratio. I am sure it is in there I just cannot find it.

Sincerely,

William McCormick

DI,S gets you to setting your screen aspect ratio. Look up "Screen Ratio" in the HElp file.

How are you doing Lew?

That does not seem to change the ratio. It just sets the size of objects on the screen.

Screen ratio does not search on my help file. And I think it is up to date.

Sincerely,

William McCormick

What is the recommended default resolution of the monitor you are using and what resolution are you actually running it at?

It creates a true square at the maximum screen resolution. Not at the in between resolutions. I know there used to be a way to set that.

I don't believe you are going to find what you are looking for.

 Quote:
Native Resolutions
All LCD screens can actually display only a single given resolution referred to as the native resolution. This is the physical number of horizontal and vertical pixels that make up the LCD matrix of the display. Setting a computer display to a resolution lower than this resolution will cause extrapolation. This extrapolation attempts to blend multiple pixels together to produce a similar image to what you would see if the monitor were to display it at the given resolution but it can result in fuzzy images.

Ok I can see that.

I just thought General Cadd might be able to adjust the difference using some kind of subliminal scaling or something.

Not a problem at all. I will just set my monitor to maximum resolution and increase the size of my icons.

Sincerely,

William McCormick

"subliminal scaling".... now that is something for Matt and Carl to consider. I suppose that is sort of like subliminal advertising where in this case the circles are actually round but you don't see the roundness on the screen when you first look at it but later on in your mind you swear that the circles were round when you first viewed them...?

I read something about that recently. I think they call it fuzzy logic?

I think Carl & I will pass on that can of worms.

I use a 640 capture window, and it can be a pain in the neck to see the tiny box, that creates on the high resolution screen. It is even harder to manipulate what is in the tiny box.

So I just change the screen resolution so it is easier to work inside the small box.

By subliminal I was referring to a hidden scaling done by General Cadd. Not a mind bending experiment. Ha-ha.

But to be honest, I can just change the procedures, and scale whatever it is that is too large, down. That is usually ok. But sometimes diagonal lines will get a little jagged.

Off topic, did anyone see the hypnotizing experiment on TV, a guy goes around hypnotizing people. And they do crazy things. And don't even remember it.

That goes along with my theory that 95 percent of the people on earth can be given an opinion, with peer pressure.

Sincerely,

William McCormick
