how about a 2 letter command to for layer unlock?

you could make your own using the MA custom commands.

if I am looking at it right, you have to use the same command for both locking and unlocking: YK. If you have a layer locked, hit YK and put in the layer number and it will then unlock it.

Oops, you're right James, there already is a 2 letter command for it. And YP for layer protect.

Id never used the command before, myself. Not really a layer guy. If you have certain layers you constantly lock/unlock, Sam, setting up a macro to toggle that would be easy.
