The GCP PDF Writer program is a specially written "Printer
Driver" which allows you to create and save a PDF (Portable
Document Format) file from General CADD Pro or any Windows
program.
Once installed, this program appears to the Windows Operating
System as if you had just installed a new printer... only in this
case, there really is no actual physical printer... just
the GCP PDF Writer software.
To create the PDF file from General CADD Pro, you simply
select the GCP PDF Writer printer as your choice of printers to
send your output to and the program will create a PDF file and
save it to your Hard Disk Drive.
Installation Instructions

Download the GCP-PDF Writer Installation.Zip
file from the link below and save it to your hard drive.

Unzip the file and extract its contents to
c:\general cadd 6 (or c:\general cadd 5)
(if you are
not running GCP Version 6 or 5 then extract it to the parent folder
of the version you are running)

In that folder, there will now be a sub folder
named PDF Writer Installation and
in that sub folder will be the program named Install
PDF Writer.exe Double Click this program to
begin the installation and follow the on screen instructions.
After the installation program has successfully
completed, when you open the Printers section of your Windows
OS, you will see a new printer listed, GCP PDF
Writer, as shown in
the example below.

Using GCP PDF Writer With General CADD Pro
When you are ready to use the PDF Writer program, in
General CADD Pro, type DP, U and click the Printer
Button to select the printer. Select the GCP PDF Writer option
as shown below:
Once you have selected the GCP PDF Writer as
your output printer, when you reach the final step of the printing
operation, the data will be sent to a PDF file instead of going out
to a physical printer. You will be given the opportunity to
enter the desired name for the PDF file.
Viewing PDF FILES on your computer.
To view the created PDF file on your computer, you
will need to have the free Adobe
Acrobat Reader installed.
